Canada, March 18 : A solemn service for the soul of our dear Wilfy Rebimbus was held by Canara World Foundation Inc. on March 14th, 2010 at St. Martha & Mary Church, Mississauga.

It was an emotional day for a lot of his fans here in Canada who could not be personally present to attend his last rites. Fr. Edwin D'Souza was the Main celebrant and prayed for the repose of Wilfy's soul. Flavian Pinto an avid fan and a close friend of Wilfy, in his heart rending eulogy summarized the life of Wilfy right from his youth to his final days. He also took the congregation down memory lane to the historical Wilfy nite held in Canada and the 20 days he spent with him in Canada. The service was well complemented by the Choir led by Gerry D'Mello.

Max Mendes who was instrumental in hosting Wilfy Nite in Canada spoke about his memoirs with Wilfy in the reception ceremony held after the church service. Gerry D'Mello a member of United Yougsters, spoke about his early days when he wanted to sing with Wilfy and how Wilfy gave him that opportunity and thus he bloomed as an artist himself. He was choked with emotion when he sang a favourite verse from Wilfy's song "Mai" imploring God to bring Wilfy back to this world.

All the fans who gathered at this service signed a memorial book, which will be presented to the Rebimbus family by Canara World Foundation.
