Canada, March 9 : Canara Business meet held on March 7th 2010, at Monte Carlo Inn, Mississauga, was a great success with the participation of more than 50 Mangalorean business persons. Nilofer D'Souza, welcomed the guests. Flavian Pinto gave the introduction to the meeting and moderated the event.
Howard Detsky - C.A. from Yale and partners organisation, Spoke at length about Business expenses including claiming CCA on business use property, Tax advantages of incorporation, Income splitting, Taxation of Capital Gains, Dividends & Interest Income Automobile expenses & Stand by charges, Taxation of Rental Properties including renting a portion of the home, Home office expenses, Benefits & limits of RRSP contribution, Pay down your mortgage or make an RRSP contribution. Participants were thoroughly impressed both with the knowledge and the content of the presentation.
Paul Mathias gave the vote of thanks and gave a brief synopsis of Canara World Foundation and it's activities.
Max Mendes conducted the open forum covering the introduction and feedback session. The forum agreed to continue the efforts to foster network, support the community and suggested to form a new entity with the encouragement of Canara World Foundation, members were chosen to finalise this formation.
Canara World Foundation a non-profit corporation that fosters entrepreneurial spirit championed this event. This is in addition to holding several communities based events since 2005.
